  • STEM OPT Extensio nintial 90 days completed.

    Hi guys i had applied for my stem extension on may 26th and they received by by 28th and my application went to Nebraska center .I don't find any update on uscis website from past 89 days i am seeing INITIAL REVIEW my opt was expired 2 weeks back .Can Some one help me out how to handle the situation ??

        The same is the situation for me but mine is pre opt and uts tsc.

          If you have properly file for OPT extention, you will be in legal status upto 6 months and can work even if your case is in initial review or pending.

            Once you file for your STEM opt on time before your current OPT end date, you will be eligible to work for 6 months with your STEM receipt. Most of the times USCIS never updates the status on the website and once your application starts moving the other steps are immediate. If you have signed up for email and text updates, you will surely get the status updates once the decision is made and your card is under production.

              hi ther, Do not worry about it because of huge number of applications the process time is getting longer so you can call the USCIS Customer service after 90 days of your application reaching them so i also faced the same situation Do not panic about it and with your receipt Number you can work for 180 days. So you are good for now Just call them and make it simple.

                U can work up to 180 days while stem is pending
