  • On OPT, did not update address with DSO for 4.5 months! What to do?!

    Hi all,
I am currently on OPT which started in December 2013. I moved to my first client location in February, but forgot to update my university about my new home address. I did update my employer's (desi consultancy) information however. But now I found out that you must update your address change also within 10 days. Also, my H1-B got picked and approved already this April, so USCIS might already have my new home address since I provided it with my H1 application. So do I still need to inform my college? Will it be a problem that I'm informing so late?! Please help, I'm very worried!!

          1. Yes. You should inform your school until you are on F1.
          2. Inform now. Don't delay it.

              1) Update current address in school and ask them to update the same in USCIS too. You don't need to think it is late...School doesn't know when you moved, where you are staying exactly...it's just a school formality and they have to follow certain rules...You can update directly online by filling AR-11 also.
