Work authorization during cap gap extension

Hello all

My stem extension expires on 31st march 2015 ie one day before i apply for my H1b. According to cap gap extension rules i wont be able to work if my opt expires before i apply for h1b.So i would have to wait for 6 months i could start working again.
My question:Is there any way by which i could extend by opt by 1 day or somehow can make use of the cap gap extension.As i work for an oil and gas company,they wont allow me to work on CPT.

Any help appreciated.

No dude only option is going through CPT and work Untill your h1b gets approved on CPT .

Ask your school DSO. It is very likely that the school DSO can request an extension in OPT dates for cases like yours

well.. its tough luck for you.. You wont be eligible for cap gap even if ur application gets picked in a lottery next year(if there is one) . To be eligible ur opt needs to end after April 1 (filing of ur h1) or after your application picked in the lottery (not sure which 1) Since u dont qualify for both, most probably you will not get a cap gap. Once ur STEM ext expires you will have to leave the country within 60 days (grace period) and can come back in end of Sept/ Oct 1. You need to start evaluating your options if you wish to stay in the US. CPT is your only way of staying in the country and working from April 1 - Sept 31. Wish you luck !!!

Can you please help me. I'm eligible for CPT. Can you suggest some desi consultancies which are good. I'm really confused and heard that there are many fraud companies. Thanks in advance

actually I dont think u can get a cap gap either.. your only option is cpt till Oct 1

Yes he is eligible for cap gap that allows to stay but not work that's true
