Photocopy of EAD card as work authorization

Hello

Urgent advise needed.

I had applied for replacement EAD card last month.It is still on Initial review.I have a job offer from another company.Can i show them a photocopy of my EAD card as work authorization?.They want me to join next week itself and i dont think i would receive my new EAD card before that.

Yes you can show your photocopy. No employer asks for physical copy. As it is a replacement one, you don't have any legal obligation. All the best for your new project.

I am not sure what do you mean by replacement EAD, I assume you are talking about EAD you will get after you have extended your OPT. In that case, you might have got some docs from USCIS that prove that you will get your EAD(that had worked in one of my friend's case when he applied for OPT extension).Also, it depends on the company policy, some company will accept photo copy until you get original, you can check with them. Additionally, if the company really likes you as a employee than they will wait until you get your EAD. Sometimes, it good to let them know the problem you are facing. Bottom Line: Talk to you employer. All the best!

Yes .. You can but some hr are very picky that they want to see physical copy .. If it is everified company they can validate it online ..

yes u can. They just want the Cad no for processing.

Yes you can it depends upon the company you work if they they are ok with it no worries and any how your opt replacement card is in initial review so don't worry if they want the physical copy explains the situation

I know it is about 3 years old post, but I could not find any concrete answers anywhere else. So were you able to work in the new company with the copy of EAD?
