Being unpaid during OPT

Hello,
I am planning to join a consultancy, right now I am on OPT. The consultant is going to pay me only when I am on a project but he is not going to run payroll when I am on bench in the OPT period. Will there be any problem now or in future if I remain unpaid for few months in OPT period when I am on bench? Thanks in advance.

Opt for first term I.e 12 months its not mandatory .. bt on opt stem extension u need to be on parolll...u can find more on usics website

What is the case with CPT. I got CPT approved from my university on June 2, 2014 and is valid till Aug 22,2014. However my consultancy will one get me a job during July Second week.Hence my payroll will also be run by consultancy starting from Second week of July. Will this cause any problem with OPT or OPT extension or during any other situations when dealing with USCIS?
