Hi, I have applied for my OPT stem extension this month. I was told that I was supposed to submit my application within 30 days from the date of I20 issurance. My I20 was issued on April 24 and unfortunately I sent my package on May 22nd through USPS priority mail. I tracked my package and found that it got delivered on May 23rd which is the 29th day from the date my I20 was issued. So, will they consider the day it was delivered to the USCIS office or the date they opened my case? It would be great if you can answer this for me. I know they will be sending me a receipt that will the date my case was received. Will this date be the same date the package was delivered? Also, if that is not the case, can I cancel my application and reapply again? My current Opt is ending on Aug 27th.

Do you know how long it takes to receive the receipt from USCIS usually??
Originally posted by DesiOPT-FaceBook-Fan View PostThe 30 day rule is definitely there regarding from date of issuance of I 20. What date they consider, it will probably be clear only when yu receive the receipt and are able to check your status online.
