I am on F1 visa and I just filled my OPT. As it turns out, I did the online form and also paid the 380$. I now have the confirmation letter and all the supporting documents with me ready to mail. My question is how long will it take me to get the OPT process completed as I was told it takes longer than applying the regular process. What do i do now?

Hi I think it depends on the office. I applied for my OPT on April 11 on line as you did, I send the papers a couple of days later, at the beginning of May they send me a letter for biometrics and right now I'm waiting for my card. The start date on my I 20 is June 9 and I really hope I'm going to have it by then. Anyway Nebraska office processing time is up to 60 days. Good luck!Comment

Its a 3 month window from the date they receive your package. Usually their turn around time is 2-2.5 months. Hope this helps.Comment
