Hi,
I am joining a Consultancy company for work during my CPT (Summer - Internship). My university is strict with CPT rules. As per univ norms, I can work for 40 hours per week during the Summer and after Summer, I can work only 20 hours per week. However I am joining a Consultant who had agreed to run pay roll for 40 hours per week during summer and 20 hours later on and pay rest as cash.
To get CPT approval from university for summer, the Consultancy company (e-verified employer) has given me an appointment letter that mentions that I will be paid 40$ per hour. However once I start working in 3-4 weeks, I will be paid 50-60 dollars per hour. However the employer couldn't mention this in my offer letter because the exact pay will be known only after 3 weeks. Will this difference in amount paid be a problem with immigration especially at the time of OPT application or with my university? Will it be a problem if my CPT application mentions that I will be paid 40 dollars per hour, whereas the employer actually runs a payroll higher than that? If so, what is the work around?
