Hi all,
I have a situation here and need some suggestions.
I will be graduating in july and start job in august 1st week. The employer has filed for my H1B and got it approved. But to work for the two months (August and September before H1B starts on Oct 1) i need an EAD. So i am filing for post-completion OPT.
Now, I am thinking of filing for a partial OPT (like 6 months OPT) so that i retain 6 months for later, let's say I go for another Masters (like MBA) after 2-3 years.
International student advisor warned me of some complications if somehow my employer backs out or something, i will be in dead waters.
i have two doubts:
1. is it a good idea to go for 6 months OPT as of now? will the rest 6 months be valid let's say after 4-5 years?
2. If i do a second STEM masters let's say will the 17-month STEM extension still be valid?
3. What are some other viable complications I may face?
