freelancing during OPT

Hello,
I'm graduating in a few weeks and my opt is due to begin on June 1st. I already have a job offer from a company. My question is am I allowed to do freelancing jobs besides the full-time job during OPT? If so what is the procedure? The company that's offering me the freelancing opportunity wants me to finish a few of their projects and it's going take a few weeks to finish them. Am I allowed to work in such a situation?

1 yes u can do independent contracting while on post opt .. u can use 1099
2 yes as long as it is u r field
