What would be the exact difference between a STEM & non STEM college in terms of :

2) No. of attempts required for H1B

Does a non STEM degree would anyhow would effect any prospective employee to recruit a particular person....

There is no connection between STEM-non STEM with H1 or any other things you mentioned. The advantage with STEM is that you only get 17 months extension.

Abraar is correct. You do not get any special preference for H-1B by being a STEM graduate - though I admit it might make finding a job easier. In the wake of the H-1B cap exhaustion on 5 April, this point is all too real.
