Is it necessary to have CPT or OPT to do summer internship?

Readers, what do you think, is it OPT or CPT?

Hi. Next quarter (Spring) I would finish my required 45 units, but still have a comp exam left in (Fall). Based on this would I be able to do internship in Summer. And if I am doing a Summer internship is it necessary to have CPT? Would I get CPT?

Yes, you would need CPT but each university has it's own policies please check with your DSO

How can you just have comp exam left in Fall? University might not allow you since you are not registered in any course. As far CPT/OPT its simple..if you graduate, its OPT else its CPT..

@abraar Its possible just fill reduced course load form.. question is whether or not to apply for cpt, since cpt is to substitute for units..
