EAD CARD pending at Nebraska Center

Hello,
I've an issue which is critical to me as of now, I filed my OPT on December 4th of 2013 and till date there is no update on the case status. I've a job offer and need to start working from March3rd 2014. Can we start working without EAD card?
P.S I made a petition to expedite my case with USiCS and it was rejected
