Hi everyone,
My original OPT expired in January of this year and I applied for my STEM extension in December 2013. My OPT STEM application is currently under 'Initial Review' with the 'Alien registration number has changed' message since Jan 28th. Now, my employer is looking to file for my H1-B this year.I have received a questionnaire from the company's lawyer, asking for details such as USCIS "A" number, Non-immigrant status, expiry date of immigration status etc. The lawyer also requires a copy of my EAD card for the application and copy of I-20 along with other documents. I have the following questions:
1. Since my original OPT has expired and my STEM extension is pending approval, the EAD card I have right now does not serve as proof required by the lawyer. Should I still give a copy of it as proof, mentioning that my STEM EAD is still pending?
2. I have a USCIS number on my expired OPT, but I don't know if this is the "A" number that the lawyer wants. Assuming it is (I plan to check with the lawyer), is it alright to give the one on my expired original OPT? Does this number change once the STEM extension is approved?
Thanks!
