Whenever you send ANYTHING to USCIS or any other government agency, you should send it via a method which allows for tracking. Typically, lawyers use Federal Express or overnight express mail. If USCIS loses your application, you will have no way of proving it was timely filed.Leave a comment:

Urgent: question about return receipt
Hello y'all!
I might be freaking out a little bit right now about nothing, but I'm just wondering if you have to put a return receipt in the envelope when filing all your documents to the uscis?
because my roommate just got hers back, and then I noticed I didn't put it.
It's just a reference so I know they got it right? But not necessary?
Just trying to make sure...
