two employers on OPT STEM Extension

Hi all,
I am currently working full time with a non profit organization and I am on STEM OPT extension. My current employer is not going to file my H1b, hence I have no other alternative but to join a consultancy. Can I work with my current employer and also join a consultant? I want to continue doing my current job until the consultant can find a job for me and I start working with a client company. Is it possible to keep both jobs? Would my current employer know about my 2nd employer?

Any replies will be appreciated.
