  • OPT extension

    Hello guys
I am currently on OPT and it will be expired in august 2014 , knowing that I have Master in information systems which can allows me to apply for stemopt:

1- I would like to know if I could apply for opt extension anytime or there is a specific time to apply ?

2-How long it does take to get the EAD card ? Is it the same process as the first opt?

    Thank you in advance

              As per
8.2.2. When does the student need to file for the extension?
The student must ensure that the Form I-765, supporting evidence and fee payment reach the proper USCIS Service Center before his or her current OPT expires. USCIS recommends that students file within 90 and 120 days of the expiration date of the current OPT.
