Degree Certificate needed to apply for OPT extension?

Hi DesiOPT. I have a question regarding STEM OPT extension.


Is it mandatory to submit our degree certificate also along with official transcript when applying for STEM OPT extension? I did not take my degree certificate even though I have graduated in April 2013. My OPT will expire on April 30th, 2014. I am now applying for OPT extension but not sure if degree certificate is mandatory. If I apply it now, it take 7 weeks for me to receive my certificate. I have my official transcript. I don't know what to do now. Can anyone please tell me if I can apply for extension without degree certificate. I would really appreciate your answers.

You may not need if your official transcript shows that you have received or conferred your masters degree ... this must be sufficient just apply for extension and also degree if their is any RFE by that time u can get certificate
