Low GPA at USC and want to apply for full time jobs in Computer Science
Hello,
I am in my final semester of my Masters in Computer Science at USC and going to graduate in May 2014. Currently, my Overall GPA is 2.74 and my major GPA 2.99. I need to do well in my final semester to get an overall GPA of 3.0 (which I can). So at the end of my graduation, my overall GPA will be 3.0 and major GPA will be 3.3.
Major GPA (2.99) includes all the courses in Computer Science minus one electrical course I had taken.
I have the following questions:
1) I want to start applying for full time jobs from the month of Jan 2014. I really don't want to mention my overall GPA on my resume as it will affect my chances of getting an interview call.
So I was thinking of mentioning my GPA as 3.0 on my resume. My major GPA is 2.99 and I actually want to mention it as 3.0 on my resume. Is this okay?
2) Also when does the company do a verification of the GPA? At the end of all the interview rounds or at the beginning of the first interview round itself?
3)Suppose assuming that I get a interview call and I complete all the interview rounds in April 2014 and get selected for a full time position when my GPA will be still 2.74 and my overall GPA is still 2.99. Can I explain to the company that my overall GPA is 2.99 which is almost equal to 3.0 and request me to give me one month more time where in month of May, so that I can graduate and get an overall GPA of 3.0?
4) Else what are the other options I have, so that I can start applying for jobs in month of Jan 2014 ?Tags: None
