F1 expired can I apply for OPT

Hi,
My F1-VISA is valid till Dec 2015 but my I-20 is valid till 2018 and I am planning to graduate in 2016. Can I apply for OPT with an expired F1-VISA but a valid I-20? Thank you.

1 yes opt does not depend on expiration of u r visa .. visa is useful at the time of entry .. in side US u all ways need to maintain status
