  • RFE on my OPT extension

OPT/CPT Blast Resume to 2500+ employers via http://bit.ly/18niNwb

Hi, I received a RFE on my OPT extension. My OPT started Jan 1 2013. I was in employment from Feb 4 2013 which is just 30 days, its just that my DSO updated my employment details late.

I am really tensed about the RFE as it could lead to rejection if not responded properly. When I submitted my OPT application, I have submitted the employment verification letter along with the documents. Still I received an RFE from California Service Center.

    1. Is there any place I can see the possible reasons for RFE, before the letter arrives.
    2. Is there anything that I can do before the letter arrives and usually how long does it take for the letter to arrive?
    3. Please let me know the rejection rate for an OPT RFE.

Please answer at your convenience. I appreciate your help.

RFE is common these days, so nothing to worry. Wait for the letter and respond to them providing all materials. To me the letter was delivered after 10 days. Reasons could be photographs, transcripts, paystubs etc.

No need to worry. Usually the letter takes 3-5 business days and the RFE might be something very minor. The good news is currently the denials have reduced since a month. So good luck. Dont stress

            Hi,

I received the RFE and it is about signature crossing the lines.

I have the following questions before I respond. Please let me know what you guys think.

RFE received : In the letter they have given a blue form and a paper which has a box for signature.

RFE Response : My plan of response is : Blue form on the top + paper with the signature

            1. Should I send the original blue form or a copy of it? At the bottom they mentioned : Save the notice. So I did not understand exactly what to do.

            2. Should I send any other cover letter along with the response? They did not ask for any.

            3. If in case the signature on the original page 2 that they sent goes wrong, can I use the copy of the second page I that I have taken before signature ? There is nothing in
color on the second page that they sent.

Thanks and I appreciate your time.
