I have a couple of questions:
1) I am on OPT and my project has ended. However, my employer is unable to find me a second project. Can I switch to another employer who finds me a project?
2) I am planning to travel to India next month for 15 days. Since I am on bench, would that be a problem?
3) What documents do I carry while traveling? I will be allowed to enter USA right?
4) My OPT expires on July. What do I do if I don't get H1 before July?

Yes... U can travel to india. U need to carry ur opt card , travel i20 and employment letter from ur employer..make sure ur employment letter states that u work in the field u completed ur masters. These are must .
Additional documents for safe side
Masters certificate , pay checks for last six months, ssn and DL..... these are nt required bt to be on safe side..

4 hmm cap subjected h1 wont start untill oct1 .. if u r petition is approved or pending then you can use cap gap ..

1. Yes, Make sure that payroll dates are continous
2. No problem...carry req documents
3. PP, Valid Visa, Offer Letter, Vacation letter, EAD
4. IfOPT cant be extended you have 60 days to leave

What if someone does not work in the field of student and is on OPT and needs to go out of USA?
