  • OPT in INITIAL REVIEW after 60 days

My OPT status is INITIAL after 60 days. I have to start work on Feb. 14th. Could you please tell me how many days does it take for INITIAL REVIEW? Also, I am an Electrical Engineering Bachelor Graduate who will be working as a Java programmer. My employer wants to sponsor H1-B in April 1st. I took 2 Java courses during my degree. Is the job directly related to my degree? I wanted to work for that employer for 1 year and then move on to the next employer. In that case, do I need to re-apply for another H1-B or I can just to H1B transfer. How much is the H1B transfer fee? What does my new employer has to do for my H1-B transfer? Could you please answer all these questions. I can't seem to find answers.
Thanks for your replies in advance!

            1) It can take upto 90 days.
            2) The job description should be worded correctly, you shouldnt have problems with H1
3)You can switch employers, by transferring H1
            4) Transferring costs same as new application, it is taken up by the sponsoring employer, legally you are not supposed to pay for it
            5) He just needs the right documents including approved H1 petition copy, the company lawyer will inform you (dont worry about new employer now, take one step at a time).

1 now a days it is taking around 60-90 days to process ..
2 don't worry about it u r attorney will take care of it ..
              3 u re-apply under cap -exempted .. ( people call it transfer )..
4 it depends on company ..but it same as applying new ..
5 applying for h1 under cap exempted with it supporting documents ..

With the situation now, and less than 50% chance of H1B approval this year (assuming lottery process with take part), i agree with Dr-Sid..one step at a time

                  1. Usually 90 days
                  2. Contact an officer, he will take care of replying to USCIS
                  3. H1B transfer
                  4. Just same as new one
                  5. Apply for H1
