Opt employment start date

I am a student on F1-Opt, I have applied for OPT card in the month of July and it took 100 days to receive it, Meanwhile I started working for an XYZ company from October 7, 2013. I have received my EAD card on Nov 7, 2013 and it says the start date is from Nov 4, 2013. The reason why I am contacting you is because my employer started my payroll before I received my EAD card and now I am worried about my future benefits from USCIS. I had informed my employer several times that I am not supposed to start working before I recieve my EAD card but he always said that he had ran e-verify and it said I am authorized to work in the USA with or without OPT card, I had no time and I went according to what my employer said.
Even a few days back when I contacted my employer he said the same thing that he has got all the supportive documentation.
When I am not authorized to work in USA without an EAD card according to USCIS, why did the e-verify site show positive results with I 94 when my employer ran e-verify on my eligibility?
Please give me suggestions on how to proceed with this issue

if it got positive results then your employer is fine .. but as per law you should not work before ead start date ..

Is it OPT extension ? If it is then you are allowed to work 180 days after first opt expired even your second opt card doesn't come in that time frame.

Sorry to be blunt... but you are screwed if caught.. dont understand why we indians take rules for granted.. u r dealing with US govt. They didn't even spare our diplomat, so what are we... pray to god they dont catch u during extension or H1B.. I m pretty sure ur employer would have been a desi consultant

As per law you should not work before start date of EAD...If you were caught you will be in trouble for sure...

Take a look at I-765 when you applied for your EAD...on opt extension you can work

You can be screwed if you caught. I would advice just change ur stuff to the day on the opt card start date nd consider that ur start day
