Reentering on OPT with a Volunteer job letter

Hello,

I am on my OPT which began on Oct 30th. I am working form 30th oct as a volunteer for a company (remotely) since then. The project seems to be ending soon in Dec. I am going to India for my marriage and will be returning in January. My concern is:

Can i still come back on OPT showing that i still work for that employer as a volunteer... Cause i have EAD, Offer letter as a volunteer work , valid i20, Visa, passport.

Please help, I do not wish to convert my OPT into H4.

I am really sure about how it works...If the immiratio office wants to cross verify then you will be in trouble
