Would it be possible for me to re-enter on valid OPT STEM? Did anyone go through this situation?

I had a question regarding H1B visa. I pursued my Masters degree in USA and worked for on year in US. I returned back to India, its been 9 months, i still have stem opt EAD that is valid till november 2013. I wanted to ask can US employer file for H1b visa for a person in India, if yes when employer has to file and when it gets approved? Also if US employer is ready to file my H1b visa and calls me to USA on stem opt status, would it be possible for me to re-enter on stem opt? I have stem I-20 and all other documents from my university.

I have one of my friend who returned back with no hassles after 1 year while he was on OPT...chances are less but if you have any valid reasons

If someone is unemployed for more then 90 days his/her OPT is expired and is no longer eligible to stay in USA based on this you can't enter in USA on OPT extension. H1B can be filled by employer from April 1st of every year till the quota of that year is not filled and any employer who fulfill the h1b employer criteria can file you h1b.
