Pre-OPT Internship

Hi,

I got an internship offer to pursue in my last semester(Spring-14), here at ASU. At ASU, they have some strict rules about CPT and the only way to pursue an internship in the last semester is by applying for Pre-OPT. I am not sure, whether getting a Pre-OPT will hinder me from anything in future apart from reducing my 12 months OPT. Please suggest if I should go forward with Pre-OPT.
