employer changed the name

I am on OPT. The employer to which I am associated to have changed the name of their company. I contacted my DSO and they wanted me to update this as a new employer.
The e-verify number of the employer is the same. So, do I update it as my new employer and get a new i-20 with the changed name? What should I mention the start date in that?
My previous start date that I reported in the school was june 6th but I got my job in october and my first pay stub will be with the new changed name. I don't have any paystubs with the old name.
How should I go ahead with the process so that it doesn't effect my opt extension?

U dont need a need i20on opt. Just fill out the current opt status form. Change start date to oct, if u can chnage

Change name means ?? They got new DBA ?? Or they merged with another one .. some states allow you to change corporate name some dont .. so let me know what exactly change name means .. if it is just new dba you dont need to do anyting ..

1. Update the name..
2. The day when th company's name is changed officially
3. You can mention the first job as Intern..Thats not problem. It doesn't effect anything
