For MIS (Management Information System) degree to be part of STEM depends on how university lists it. It's suggested to check the CIP code of the program and the STEM list to make sure it's included under STEM. Some universities mention it clearly on there websites and some don't. It's always advisable to check with Admissions department prior to enrolling.

All depends on your University. Check your I 20 which would have a "Degree Code" on the second page of your I20. Use that I20 code to see if the degree qualifies for Stem or not. A shorter route: Ask your Office of International Education. A MIS at X college may be Stem but may fall under Business under college Y. However it is considered as a STEM program in general. Check OIE to be double sure !! Hope that helps
