    Hello guys,

I am an international graduate student. I am eligible for 17 month OPT STEM extension. My college does provide with a 12 month OPT. However, I believe that my college wont provide me with the new I-20 as there is no proper International student services organization (ISSO) in the college. There is a registrar who performs all the work. I wanted to know will the college be a hindrance in applying for the 17 months OPT? What role does the college play in it? What requirements does the college need to fulfill in order to be eligible to provide the 17 month OPT?

      1. College is not an obstruction in applying 17 months OPT. You should have already paid your college fee by the time you apply for OPT
      2. College has nothing to to with OPT extension. It is just a mediator between you and USCIS
      3. COllege need to be accredited and from your side you should have paid your fee. You should have followed all F1 OPT rules during initial 12 months of OPT.
