But, I'm not sure of the second question, I've actually seen some people travel outside US within this period, with the help of a volunteering offer letter from an on-campus department.

Hello,
You guys are doing a very good job. It is a very good forum for all the F 1 students to learn different aspects of OPT.
I am a Masters graduate currently on OPT. I actually have few questions regarding the OPT status.
1.) I actually gave my OPT start date to be September 20th. If this date is considered to be my start, my 90 days unemployment period should get over on the December 20th is it?
2.) Also, the employer who spoke to me regarding a job offer told me that they will be able to give me the opportunity only by 2014. Can I stay in the US until then? Is it safe for me to go to India and get back? They also told me if 2014 is too late they would take me as an intern. Can I work on an internship during this period?Tags: None
