Hi i graduated in summer this year with masters in computer science. Filed for OPT in june at texas service center with receipt date 20 June 2013. with 90 days over it is still in initial review. I filed a service request and an expedite request as well during first week of sept. I received a reply yesterday that my application is under extended review and thats why the processing is delayed. It would be great if someone can share any information about what is this extended review and how long will it take. Also I took 20 Aug. as start date for the OPT but now since its so long will all these days after 20 Aug are counted towards the 90 days unemployment period?

Oh thats sad.. But dont worry when the status changes from intial review to card production that would be your start date not the date you specified.Comment

I applied in nov and for 7 months it was under intial review and got RFE in aug. I submitted the RFE in mid aug and in september my OPT got approved ... i dont know reason why it took 7 month of intial review called them many times but answer was same reviewng the application.Comment

I just received letter i got my opt card for only 5 months
is it too much they hve delayed from there side and reduce my OPT period

to expediting the process of opt calling USCIS didnot help infact nothng help in my case i just waited for the decision to be made.Comment
