  • Address for OPT

Hi all..I am currently on CPT and also in the process of applying for OPT. I have a query regarding address to mention in I-765 form while applying OPT
Currently I stay as a PG and not sure of receiving any letters to me as my name is not mentioned in the mailing list and I am not sure of how long I stay here. Hence I am thinking to use service of USPS PO Box and to mention as my address in I-765 form . It would be of great help to me if someone could throw a light on this as I have seen the previous posts where there was a delay in OPT card due to change in address . Hence would like to confirm on this subject..Did anyone ever used this service of USPS PO Box. and is it okay to mention this address while applying OPT. Thanks in advance

It is a good idea to give the address of the international student office of your school... this way when they receive your EAD card they can inform you..

Why dont you ask your name to be put on mailing list ?? Since you are a PG it should not be a problem but please check.... why do you want to increase your headaches without asking your house owner if you can recieve mails ?

I think it won't be any problem ..because I gave my friend's address as mailing address, but check with ur college international student adviser and with Uscis once...it's just matter of phone calls..

Use the address of your international center. Univ of Fl does this for every student. Less chance of mail getting lost or not being forwarded correctly. and yes that is a PO box so they do deliver to a PO box.

Usually they won't ask any confirmation of recipient, they just drop in the house mail box ,so it's ok if your owner is aware of that letter on ur name .more over you can inform her in advance by tracking from Uscis right.so wont be any problem..
