F2 to H4 question, please help me

Hi All,

Right now my status is F1 and my wife status is F2.. this year i applied h1b and it got approved yesterday i mean on October 22nd but my employer forget to apply h4 for my wife. In this case should my wife need to go to out of country and need to back in ? or can we apply change of status from f2 --> H4 by staying in united states.? any suggestions friends ?
