First H1 B stamping in Canada

I am an Indian student currently on OPT working for an american company. I have my F1 Visa and OPT valid till May 2014. My status will change from F1 to H1b from October 1 2013.
1) Can I go to Canada for my first time visa stamping?
2) My wife is on F2 visa. Can she also get her H4 stamped in Canada along with me. Her F2 visa expired Dec.2012?
3) Will she get tourist visa to canada as her F2 visa already expired?

I am also in the same situation, I would like to know if we can return to the states once our H1 visa is stamped? Do we need updated I20 to enter the country?

You just need to pass the country. You can go to cannada, India, Bahamas wherever you can and you want. Again your application goes to Indian Embassy. If it gets rejected you should directly go to home country from cannada. So you are free to go and take your H1B stamping any where

Yes you can go but there is no guarantee of coming back
