  • SEVIS terminated! - URGENT

My h1b recently got approved with change of status but my SEVIS recently got terminated. I actually dropped below course.
I urgently need some guidance -
1.What do I do now - can I still stay in the USA and start working from OCT 1? -
    2. Should I go to Canada , mexcio or india for stamping? How risky is it is to go for stamping with terminated SEVIS?
    3. Should I apply for reinstatement and stay in the usa until oct 1 - the start date of h1?

You need to speak with an attorney.

You'd need a new sevis.. Your status will come into effect in Oct.. Better get University admission and re-enter USA.. Unless your visa is expired, you won't have a complication.. It's fairly easy..

You can stay till 60 days after your SEVIS expiration. However your COS won't work. Alternatively go back to India and come back on H1B via consular processing.

Its like 2 more months before 1st Oct. You can stay in USA till then... If you have a valid F1 stamp.... Pay the new sevis fee with a new school or same school and travel to Canada, Mexico or Jamaica... If you want to go for H1b stamping keep in mind that you will not be allowed to enter US before 1st Oct. Talk to lawyer or your DSO to get a clear advise on this thing.... Good Luck
