H1B Petetion got selected- Can I travel?

My Current Visa Status is H4(Dependent Visa). My H1 got picked up in lottery(Regular Processing, Vermont). Can I Travel to India while my application is in process?

That should not be an issue if you are traveling before Oct 1st.

While I'm in India and if H1 gets approved, will there be any risk in Stamping process/ or what should be my Course of action ?

It should not be a problem if you return on the same visa before oct 1st as your H1 is in effect from Oct 1st even if it is approved.

This question has been asked before. Maybe we should make an FAQ section....It depends on whether or not your case was filed as a new petition or a change of status. If the petitioner requested a change of status and you leave, then your status will no longer automatically change from H-4 to H-1B on October 1 if you travel.
