I'm working on F-1 OPT STEM Extension which was expired on 4th April, 2016 and my employer filed my H1B petition which reached USCIS by 1st April, 2016 and it was selected in the Random Lottery Process, obtained my receipt number on 13th April, 2016. I updated my DSO with the information (Receipt no. ) I had to obtain the CAP-GAP I-20. But my DSO says my SEVIS record was not updated yet and they want me to check with an attorney to determine my work authorization.Am I eligible to continue my work under CAP-GAP ruling until I get CAP-GAP I-20 or my H1B petition was approved.?
