Information Needed

Hi
Presently i'm on OPT and my OPT expires on 20 may 2016. I have applied for opt extension on 10 march 2016.I don't think they will process opt extension by may since recently they are taking lot of time.

In mean time my employer is filing my H1 in this april.As you all know we will not know decision of H1 until September.What should i do after 20 May.

Should i be applying cap gap or something.
please suggest the options.

You are allowed to work for up to 180 days while the STEM OPT application is pending. See: http://www.ice.gov/doclib/sevis/pdf/...nce_042010.pdf, page 28.

you can work 180 days after your opt expireswhen your stem extention is pending.
