Dear Friends,
This message for anyone in F1, H1B, L1 or any other kind of work visa (and spouses) and stuck in never ending Green card line. Or it is much bigger concern if your GC hasn't even started. Not many of you know how long the GC queue is and the struggles associated with it. As of writing this moment, there are about 200k primary petitions ahead of you, including dependent petitions it is about 400k.
Under EB2&3 USCIS allocates 5800 GCs a year, yes just 5800. With spillover from EB1 and little bit of spillover from family categories, we predict if someone applies GC in 2016, you might get GC in 2033-2035. These are not some random numbers pulled from the sky. These are hard numbers crunched by going through ton of information available. Obama announced some relief (aka I140EAD) in 2014, unfortunately the rule got diluted by lobbying power of employers and lawyers. The rule is open for comments right now. Please comments if you really don't want to get stuck in backlogs forever.
