Best technology to learn

Hello.

I am trying to learn a new technology in IT. Can any one please suggest the best tool that i could learn for a better pay rate. I am new out of school on OPT, i have recently got into a consultancy, I am presently learning java, but i am not much of a programming person. I am fine with java script or ABAP or Apex etc. I prefer to be a tool developer than a programmer.
