My employer is willing to sponsor H1 next year but unfortunately they are not an e-verified company. Therefore, they moved me to a contract firm temporarily. Due to this process, I was not able to apply for STEM extension early and was able to only apply last week (My 12 month Post OPT expires in the first week of February). I know that the usual waiting period for the STEM extension will be 90 days. Therefore, there is a slight chance that my EAD card will arrive in April. Would it be possible to apply for H1 without the card? What documents are required instead?
