Question regarding H1b stamping

Hello,

Could anyone please tell me if I need original I-797A notice of action for H1 stamping? My employer retained the top section and gave me only the bottom portion of the original I-797A. As it is mentioned on the notice that petitioner has to maintain the top portion and the lower portion has the be given to the employee. Could anyone please confirm this?

yes you need to have both .some employers are smart enought to hold the employees by retaining the top portion talk to him and make an agrement that what will be done when you want to transfer your visa
