OPT ending March 12

My 29 months of OPT is ending on March 12, 2016
Will i be eligible to apply for H1-B in this case?
If yes, on what status i will be able to work, until the decision for H1-B is made

Yes, you can file for H-1B on April 1, 2016 since you will still be in F-1 status because of the 60-day grace period following your OPT expiration. H-1B Cap Gap will allow you to remain in the U.S. in F-1 status, but you will not be able to continue working after March 12. In order to continue working, the H-1B petition must be filed before your OPT ends. As your OPT ends before April 1, you will need to stop working. Your employer can file your petition in April and if it is approved, you can work from OCT 1st 2016. However, you have to stop working after March 12 2016 as you are not eligible for cap gap.

you can join in a collage which gives day 1 cpt for jan intake inorder to continue your work getting h1 is very difficult for the next year and romours says that 350000 applications will be filed for next year .Hope your luck will work

U are eligible for cap gap .. But u can not work till oct 1 .. U can stay till sep 30 on cap gap if h1 is approved .

You are not eligible for cap gap as you will be out of status after the 12th . For cap gap you will have to be on a valid status when you file for H1 ie April 1st. Please do not advise if you do not know the rules properly . I would advise you to talk to your school's international office or any immigration lawyer for clarity .
