• STEM OPT expires in NOV. Is it good to start second Masters in Sep or Jan ?

    Hello Friends,

My Stem OPT is about to expire in Nov and I am working as a full time employee. I have applied for second Masters in ITU CA for this FALL (Sep) and got admission.

    I have couple of questions:

Is it ok to join for Spring which is Jan for ITU as my OPT expires in Nov?Does ITU defer the admission for Spring? What will be my status from Nov to Dec can I work?I think the commitment deadline is Dec for Spring so do they do SEVIS transfer on Nov or so? So that I will be in valid status?

Does ITU offer CPT full time in first trimester? Can I continue my present job?
Once your OPT ends, you get 60 days of grace. If the school defers your admission to January, it should be okay since January would still be within your grace period. Therefore, there is no gap in status. You MUST stop working on the last day of OPT.
