  • H1B Visa Stamping and Travelling

    Hello All,

I came to US on F1-Visa and got my H1B Visa this year. I am planning to have my H1B Visa Stamped in Canada and then leave for India for my vacation and returning to Canada. And then travelling to US.
This might not be a wise idea to move forward with. However, can anybody help me with steps I need to follow ? I have basic idea of what needs to be done, but just need to confirm.

    1. Apply for Visitor Visa for Canada.

    2. Take Appointment for my H1B- Visa stamping in Canada.

    3. Travel to India and return to Canada on my visitor visa.

    4. Travel back to US on my H1B Visa stamped in Canada.

There might be something that I am missing or misunderstanding.
    Please help.

    Thank you.

This seems to be okay. The only hiccup can occur on your return trip from India to Canada. You need to be able to show that you will only be transiting on your way to the U.S. as they might think you are returning too soon after having just left. I would suggest that you do just that - transit through Canada so that you will avoid any hassles.

Hmmm...better go to India directly for stamping....This Canada and then India is complex, at least you can spend some time in India if you get 221g.
