  • H1-B Status - Mystery

    Hi ,

    I am on my OPT extension and my employer applied for H1 this year .I was told by my employer that my case was picked and even the cheque was encashed. But till now there is now my employer did not receive receipt number .One of my friend suggested to contact DSO and when i contacted them to see whether there is any change in my status they replied saying "Showing the following Change of Status pending receipt number : EAC********** . But when i check on the site it gives the below error

    "Validation Error(s)
    You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

    My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283. "

    I tried calling USCIS and all they are saying is to wait.

    The million dollar question is whether my case selected or not ????? Did any one face same problem ??? Need some inputs on this,this is really frustrating me

      Hi,
      I too used to get that error while sometimes if I try to look for my case status on my cellphone.
      May be if you miss some characters it might show the error. Try to do a search from desktop computers...It worked for me....

        Hi kendall,

        I am doing on desktop only. But my main concern is my employer did not receive receipt . I got this number from my DSO . Can i still have hopes ?

          If you get the update from DSO then you can trust that source. Please verify once again with your DSO about the receipt number. May be you didnt get it right.

            You will not get an answer from USCIS as you are the Beneficiary. The Attorney or Employer must call USCIS to get more information or to have USCIS re-issue a receipt notice.

              Hi newbie25,

              Even am on same boat, do you have anyupdates. Please let me know, I called twice to USCIS they were telling as of now no updates . After seeing this I was shocked :



              how USCIS can do like that : (
