Hello DesiOPT,
My OPT started from May 13, 2013 and expired by May 12, 2014. In 2014, my H1-B got approved and is valid from Oct 1, 2014 to Sept 30, 2015. I applied for my OPT extension also last year and it got approved too and is valid till Oct 12, 2015. My university called me and asked me to update with the employment changes. When I told them that my H1-B got approved, they said that my SEVIS hasn't been updated and said that I am still on OPT Extension. So I am confused and worried now. What should be my SEVIS status now. I am planning on applying for H1-B extension and not sure whether my application is going to be processed or going to be rejected as my SEVIS is not updated in their systems. I contacted my employer and he asked to contact my university, and the university said they don't bother about that. Please advise.
