Travel on F2 to H1-B

Hi,

My wife is on F2 visa and her employer has applied for H1B (COS) this April. She has to travel to India in couple of weeks on an emergency. Her H1-B petition status is still unknown. Do you think this travel would jeopardize her H1-B visa? Please advise.

Note: I'm on F1-OPT visa and my H1-B visa has been picked up in the lottery.

If she travels, her COS will be canceled. If her H-1B is picked, it will still be adjudicated by USCIS, but it will be approved with Consular Notification instead of as a COS. In order to activate her H-1B, she will have to leave the U.S. and get H-1B stamping done.
