  • How to know if application is selected in lottery

Now that lottery for the applications is completed..
    1) How soon can we expect USCIS to start dispatching the results.
    2) I heard that faster way to know if H1B application is selected or not is by SEVIS number. If the SEVIS number changes, then H1B application is selected, and the only way to know if SEVIS number has changed is through International Student Services. Or does SEVIS number change only after processing of applications ?
    3) In case of premium processing, if the premium processing fees is deducted the application should be selected in lottery.

Are the above mentioned true ? Are there any other ways to know if H1B application is selected in lottery.

      1. Expect receipt notices to begin trickling in over the next 2-3 weeks or sooner if your petition was filed via Premium Processing.
      2. SEVIS number will not change until the applications have actually begun to undergo processing or have been approved. They are simply cashing checks and issuing receipts right now.
      3. Fees are only deducted once your petition is chosen in the lottery. If the check has been cashed, then it has been chosen in the lottery.
